Dream trip to Malaysia

Malaysia, truly Asia... this is the tagline of an ad deeply embedded in my psyche since the time this advertisement of Malaysia Tourism used to feature on national television of India. Therefore, when BlogAdda posted this contest where we have a chance to visit one of the best tourist places of Asia and world, I could not restrain myself to write a blogpost for the same

Malaysia as a country is a bubbling, bustling melting pot of races and religions and offers a range of delicacies making available a gastronomical paradise for the people. It is a warm home to hundreds of colourful festivals.

I would definitely like to visit the pristine beaches at Langkawi Island, Kedah or something more adventurous like visiting the Gunung Mulu National Park, Sarawak to experience the flora & fauna.

Malaysia is ranked as 9th among the most visited place in the world.

Top places I would like to visit:

1. Petronas Twin Towers

Ever since seeing these twin skyscrapers in the
movie Don: the chase begins (2007) directed by Farhan Akhtar mainly in Malaysia, this piece of architecture has held my attention. The marvellous doubledecker Skybridge connecting the twin towers on 41st floor is a classic feat of human accomplishment. This would, undoubtedly, be the first place in my to-visit places in Malaysia.

2. Langkawi Island: the jewel of Kedah

An archipelago of 100+ islands in the Andaman Sea, boasts of several pristine and picturesque beaches like Pantai Cenang, Pantai Tengah, Burau Bay, etc. It also houses the UNESCO Cultural Heritage site World Geopark whose main conversation areas are among the most popular tourist hotspots in Malaysia.

3. Gunung Mulu National Park

It is also a UNESCO World Heritage site that encompasses caves and karst formations in a mountainous equatorial rainforest setting. The park is famous for its caves and largest known natural chamber - Sarawak chamber, which is said to be so big that 40 Boeing 747s can be accomodated without overlapping their wings. Who will not want to visit such a natural wonder!
Furthermore, it is said that this region is also home to various kinds of flora and fauna. Even 27 different species of bats are seen to be reported there. Thus, this National Park forms the 3rd in my to be visited places if Malaysia calls me.

4. Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta

Would surely like to experience such a wonderful sight when hundreds of hot air colorful balloons will be soaring high into the air. Let's hope I get place to be in one of such hot air balloons, thus touching the bare sky with my hands.

5. Cameron Highlands

It is one of Malaysia's most extensive hill stations, of the size of Singapore. If time is there, I will keep it as my backup visiting place while in Malaysia. Home to several endangered flora and fauna species, this place also finds a place in my list.

P.S. -- I am participating in the MalaysiaJao Blogathon Contest in association with BlogAdda.com.
